Reverse: 1999 4.0 "Gate-Keeper": what I claimed first coming back, and what I nearly missed
Reverse: 1999 4.0 for returning players, as a first-person log. The order I claimed things in, how I nearly missed the 40 sign-in pulls, which new 6-star I built wrong, what to do with the single new 6-star Psychube, and the sources for the week.

Reverse: 1999 4.0: what I actually did this week
I came back at ten at night, and the login screen threw more at me than I remembered.
First: I went through the reward page
I didn't dive into the story. I read the reward page top to bottom to separate what's given on login from what needs a task.
Second: I claimed anything with a countdown
Anything with a timer got claimed first. My bad habit is doing the fun stuff first and letting the good things expire at the back of the pile.
Third: the story waited until day two
"Gate-Keeper" is the 4.0 main story, and the fog around Camelot Castle is this version's main setting. The story isn't going anywhere, so I left it for the next day.
Reverse: 1999 4.0: the five login rewards I claimed
Five login rewards, and I ordered them by whether they expire.
The guaranteed new 6-star and the selectable one
Login gives a guaranteed new 6-star, and also a selectable 6-star Reverie character. I claimed both immediately, because picking wrong wastes the whole thing.
The "Star Antimony" limited outfit
Login gives the "Star Antimony" limited outfit. Outfits don't affect strength, but I didn't want to miss it if it went away.
The anniversary jukebox
The anniversary version of the jukebox is also a login reward. This is exactly the kind of thing I overlook, because I don't know what it's for yet.

Reverse: 1999 4.0: the 40 sign-in pulls I nearly missed
This is the only one of the five that pays out daily, and the only one I tripped on.
It's a limited sign-in, not a lump sum
The 40 limited sign-in pulls have to be claimed day by day. I claimed the first day, then got busy for two days, and those days just sat there.
Why it counts separately from the rest
The 40 pulls come from the limited sign-in and are a separate allowance from the guaranteed new 6-star and the selectable one. The reason to keep them apart: the login rewards land the moment you claim, while a missed sign-in day is gone for good.
How I stop missing them now
A phone reminder, or just logging in at a fixed time each day. Not clever, but it works.

Reverse: 1999 4.0: I built the wrong character
4.0 adds two 6-stars and one 4-star. I spread my resources far too thin.
6-stars first, 4-star later
The new 6-stars are Hunting Witch Red Crossbow (Star) and Drake (Beast); the 4-star is Gwendolyn (Beast). The 4-star went to the back of my queue.
Where I went wrong
I split materials across all three, so none of them were usable. The lesson is blunt: push one at a time.
How I'd order it now
Pick one main DPS, pour resources in, and deal with the rest once the story is done.
Reverse: 1999 4.0: one Psychube, and I agonised over it
The only new 6-star Psychube in 4.0 is "Standing on the Storm's Ridge". There is no second one.
One means no choice to make
I spent a while hunting for "the other one" before confirming there's only the one. When new Psychubes are this thin, agonising costs more than deciding.
It went to the main DPS
I gave it to the main DPS. Simple reason: they take the field most often, so the value lands fastest.

Reverse: 1999 4.0: the new systems I didn't get at first
4.0 opened "Rift Reverie" and "Bygone Portraits", and says "Thames Silhouettes" will open gradually.
I ignored them on day one
I assumed a prerequisite quest was needed. Turns out you can just walk in.
It clicked on day two
These systems run in parallel, not as one chain. Look at whichever you feel like.
Watch the word "gradually"
"Thames Silhouettes" opens in stages, not all at once. Don't sink your first day into it.
Reverse: 1999 4.0: the two mistakes I made
Treating login rewards like sign-in rewards
The guaranteed new 6-star is claimed on login and needs no streak. I waited three days for nothing, assuming I had to log in consecutively.
Splitting materials three ways
This was the real lesson of the week. Splitting evenly leaves three unusable characters; one at a time is correct.

Game Guides
- Palworld 1.0.5 in three tables: cakes, Work Suitability, and condensation versus technology
Just run your save against these three tables: for breeding read column one of the cake table, for your base read column three of the Work Suitability table, and start condensation at 48 Pals. You don't need to memorise any of it; pull the table up and read one row.
- Love and Deepspace 6.0 home: 20 player questions answered, and 6000 diamonds that expire
How much does the home system pay? Officially, "over 6000 diamonds". It isn't a lump sum. It's spread across cooking, handcrafts and tasks. Claim it in the wrong order and some of it expires.
- Honkai: Star Rail 4.6 "Dance With Beasts Before the Moon Rises": who should skip, and who should claim first
If your archive is full, skip this one. If you only run the story and don't care about strength, skip it. Pearl is a limited 5-star, Elation and Ice, and the whole question is one thing: are you short an Elation slot? If yes, pull. If no, keep the free pulls.
- Genshin Impact 7.1 anniversary maths: the free 20 pulls, where both invitations land, and the real cost
If your archive is full, skip this one. If you only run the story and don't care about strength, skip it. Pearl is a limited 5-star, Elation and Ice, and the whole question is one thing: are you short an Elation slot? If yes, pull. If no, keep the free pulls.
- Wuthering Waves 3.7 Hsin build retrospective: I rolled substats first, burned two rounds of Echoes, and here's where the order went wrong
If your archive is full, skip this one. If you only run the story and don't care about strength, skip it. Pearl is a limited 5-star, Elation and Ice, and the whole question is one thing: are you short an Elation slot? If yes, pull. If no, keep the free pulls.
- Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 Shiyu Defense room 3: a third DPS or a dedicated stun slot (two-column table + 3 tests)
Room 3 comes down to two numbers: is your stun unit at level 50 or above, and do you have 2 people who can break shields. Pass both and you take route A. Fail either and you take B. If you fail both, fix your investment before you walk in.
- Arknights "Yesterday's Sea" week-one timeline: 24 hours before launch to day 7, one move per day
Applicable version: as of the 2026-10-03 update (Arknights has no version numbers, so dates from the official site are the anchor; this piece was written 2026-10-05) 24 hours before launch, do one thing: stop spending sanity and bank all 240 points for the event. Everything else on this list is optional. Skip this one and you'll be a full round of materials short.
- Palworld v1.0.5 Boss and Tower Guide: Jetragon Tech Change, Base Defense and the World Tree Route
Palworld's endgame combat splits into three tiers: tower bosses, field bosses and the World Tree main line. v1.0.5 itself only fixed a texture-resolution loading issue, so what actually changes your approach is v1.0.3 lowering Jetragon's technology unlock from level 79 to 70, plus the 1.0 launch raising the player level cap from 65 to 80. Pushing towers first, then field bosses, then the World Tree saves the most time.
