Palworld 1.0.5 overview: three changes that touch your base
What each patch changed
palworld tier list Version v1.0.5 fixed terrain and building textures loading at visibly reduced resolution for some players. Version v1.0.4 added the Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon side quests, dropped the Work Suitability for harvesting Ancient Bark to level one, and raised the default PC frame cap to 120 . Version v1.0.3 lowered the technology unlock level for Jetragon from 79 to 70 .
Why the bark change matters most
Ancient Bark has long been a bottleneck material for base building, and the old Work Suitability requirement left few Pals able to gather it. Dropping it to level one means almost any gathering Pal can take the job . Base discussions keep returning to this change because it pulls the whole building rhythm forward by a stretch.

Palworld breeding rules: power tiers and special combos
How breeding power works
The basic rule is that most combinations follow the breeding power order, while some special combos always produce a fixed result . So to target one specific Pal, check the special combo table first and only then work backwards through power tiers.
What the ranch needs
Send two parents to the ranch, drop in a cake, and hatch the resulting egg . Keep cake ingredients stocked, because a stalled ranch is wasted breeding time and cake recipes need a steady flow of ingredients from your own base. The reason to check the table first is that brute-forcing power tiers often costs two or three extra generations, while a special combo lands in one.

Palworld mutation and passive skills: what to filter for
What mutation is
Mutation arrived with the 1.0 release: breeding has a low chance of producing a stronger Pal . In other words, breeding is not only copying parents, it also carries a lottery.
Passives worth chasing
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Legend | Attack +20%, defence +20%, movement speed +20% |
| Demon God | Attack +30%, defence +5% |
| Artisan | Work speed +75% |
| Vampire | Heals 5% of damage dealt, never sleeps at night |
| Immortal Body | Heals 5% of damage dealt, natural HP regen +100%, attack +15% |
| Special Constitution | Natural HP regen +50%, defence +25%, immune to poison and burn |
The filtering logic
Attack and work speed come first because they decide whether a Pal is a fighter or a base worker, and once that lane is set the remaining passives can be compared . A mutated Pal with the right passives is worth far more than an ordinary one of the same species.

Palworld ranch layout: Babysitter and Ranch Master
Two dedicated passives
Babysitter gives Pals assigned to the breeding ranch 30% faster egg production and 30% faster hatching while they are in the base, and Ranch Master grants plus two Work Suitability on the ranch . One speeds output, the other raises throughput, and together they define a breeding base.
Which Pals go on the ranch
The ranch itself occupies only a couple of slots, so the rest should go to Pals carrying Babysitter and Ranch Master . Putting a high-attack Pal on ranch duty wastes a fighter, because the ranch reads Work Suitability, not combat stats.

Palworld base work splits after the bark change
Rebuilding the gathering chain
With Ancient Bark down to level one, generic gatherers can take the slot and your high-suitability specialists move to other lines . A common approach is to split gathering from hauling so no single Pal runs two routes at once.
Single-role or multi-role
Single-role Pals hold key production lines more steadily, while multi-role Pals suit filling gaps . Not chasing all-rounders is deliberate: with multi-role Pals, any stalled line drags on every other step, while single-role specialists ride out the swings. In practice two or three specialists cover most lines and the rest of the roster can rotate through the gaps.
Watch the build cap
Version v1.0.4 added a server setting that lets admins cap the number of buildings per player . On a self-hosted server, check that setting before you expand, not halfway through a rebuild.More Palworld coverage at gghubs.com guides.
Palworld FAQ
Do I really need the breeding table?
A: Yes. Most combos follow breeding power while special combos produce fixed results, so the table saves two or three generations .
How common is mutation?
A: Not common. It is a low-probability event, so plan on hatching in batches .
Does Ancient Bark still need a high-suitability Pal?
A: No. Version v1.0.4 dropped the Work Suitability for Ancient Bark to level one, so ordinary gatherers can take it .
Which Pals belong on the ranch?
A: Those with Babysitter and Ranch Master, for 30% faster eggs and hatching plus two Work Suitability .
Is there a building limit?
A: Yes. Since v1.0.4 admins can cap buildings per player in the server settings, and that cap applies to base expansions too .
