An entity that has been laughing in the background for a thousand ages is about to become pullable. Honkai: Star Rail version 4.7, "Now, Lay Laughter to All Stars," launches November 11, and Aeon Aha debuts as a limited five-star on the Path of Elation (source: official announcement via Gematsu, October 30, 2026). Until now, Aeons were lore furniture: names, worshippers, echoes. You could read about them. You could not own one. Version 4.7 breaks that line.
What the Update Actually Ships: One Aeon, Eight Supplicants
Aha's four mechanics
The official text is technical. Broken down, there are four pieces.
First, Aha ascends the Path of Elation for Elation characters, and each Elation character unlocks a unique combat ability. This is a path-level change, not a single-unit buff.
Second, a new "Aha Instant" mechanic fast-forwards Elation Skill performances.
Third, the whole team accumulates Wishpower during battle. When it fills, the Ultimate fires Elation damage at all enemies.
Fourth, through Aeonic Authority, allied attacks can reduce enemy Max HP directly.
The third and fourth belong together: one clears the field, the other makes the health bar itself shorter. That second effect has no precedent in this combat system.
The rerun slate, first half and second half
First half reruns Silver Wolf LV.999, Sparxie and Yao Guang. Second half brings back Acheron, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae and Jing Yuan.
Six reruns across two halves, packed into the same version as a new Aeon.
Why "An Aeon in the Pool" Is a Narrative Line Crossed
Gacha games run on an unwritten contract: what you pull is a person, what you cannot pull is a god.
That contract is structural, not legal. Once a god is pullable, the hierarchy inside the world collapses. Yesterday's object of reverence becomes today's damage slot.
The read here at gghubs is that 4.7 crosses that line on purpose, and had to. By year four, the power curve has to keep climbing, and the ceiling on "people" is exhausted. Only gods are left.
Knock-On: This Week Has More Than Star Rail
Petit Planet lands December 4 on three platforms
miHoYo's cozy life sim Petit Planet is confirmed for December 4 on PC, iOS and Android.
The pitch is almost anti-miHoYo: plant a Luca Seed, grow a Luca Arbor, and let it reshape the planet's terrain, seasons and ecosystem. More than 1,000 clothing and furniture items can be earned for free through normal play.
The Switch 2 version waits until 2027
Petit Planet arrives on Switch 2 in 2027. Mobile studios treating consoles as a second home is not news in 2026. miHoYo doing it personally is a different signal.
Analysis: When Elation Ascends, Who Gets Reshuffled
The Path of Elation used to sit in a utility slot. It could fight, but it was not the core damage dealer. Aha rewrites that placement, because path ascension lifts every Elation character at once.
Two consequences follow.
First, Elation reruns gain value. A player who already owns Elation units gets more marginal benefit from Aha than one who does not.
Second, non-Elation carries look worse by comparison. Nothing gets nerfed. The new option simply outclasses them, which is the standard shape of power creep in gacha.
The Risk Side: Crossing the Narrative Line Has a Bill
An Aeon in the pool sells well in the short term. Two problems sit behind it.
One, there is nothing higher left to sell. What sits above a god? A 5.0 that needs another tier has to invent another layer of cosmology.
Two, the emotional ledger of long-time players. Turning reverence into ownership burns mystique and awe at the same time. Those are the fuel of long-form storytelling, and fuel runs out.
One thing this article will not do: quote pull costs. Rates and pity are published in-game, and they should be read from the official notice after launch, not invented here.
Pull Advice: Three Player Types
Missing an Elation carry: strong case
Path ascension plus team-wide Wishpower points straight at the core slot of an Elation team. If that slot is empty, the return is direct.
Team already clears content: depends on resources
If your main team clears current content, Aha buys faster clears rather than access. This group is the easiest to push into spending through power anxiety, so wait for live testing.
Only here for reruns: second half is better value
Of the six reruns, the second half is all established carries. With limited resources the second half is more certain, because rerun strength has already been proven and the new unit has not.
My Take
4.7 is a clear-eyed commercial design: solve the power curve with a god, and drag the Path of Elation from the margin back to the center.
I do not think that is a bad thing. Gacha games survive by rewriting their own rules.
But here is the other sentence. Once a god is purchasable, what do you use to surprise people in the next version? miHoYo has to start answering that on launch day.
