Genshin Impact 7.2 Snezhnaya opens at level 18. The requirements are Adventure Rank 18 plus Act III of the Prologue, “Song of the Dragon and Freedom.” Clear both and the waypoint unlocks on its own, northeast of Frostbane Peak; one tap and you land right at Chapter VII, Act I, “A Snow-Buried Land Unloved by the Gods.” Not having done the chapters before Chapter VII makes no difference. What follows is ordered the way the 2026 Genshin Impact beginner's guide lays it out — walk through it once with me. Short on time? Jump straight to the checklist at the end.

How to get in: level 18 plus Prologue Act III is enough
You don't need to clear the earlier chapters
Reach Adventure Rank 18 and complete “Song of the Dragon and Freedom,” Act III of the Archon Quest Prologue, and the auto-unlocked waypoint will carry you to Snezhnaya, straight into Chapter VII, Act I, “A Snow-Buried Land Unloved by the Gods.” Not having cleared the chapters leading up to Chapter VII makes no difference.
The waypoint sits northeast of Frostbane Peak, but it isn't there from the start. You first have to finish “Gunshots in the Silent Land” inside “A Snow-Buried Land Unloved by the Gods”; complete it and the waypoint unlocks on its own, along with a handful of Primogems. So for your first stretch on the ground you have no waypoint at all — that part you walk.
Two mails, and one expires in two days
The 300 Primogems for the bug-fix compensation must be claimed by logging in before 06:00 on 2026/11/07; the 300 for the downtime compensation can wait until the version ends.
Today is November 5, so the first one has two days left. You're logging in to explore anyway — open the mail while you're there. Don't leave it until the weekend; expired mail is never re-sent.
The rail map changes, and the White Crown Palace loosens up
Teleporting to this waypoint unlocks a new rail map for the train. The unlock requirement for the White Crown Palace has also been lowered: finishing “Gunshots in the Silent Land” is enough, and it then stays displayed for good. Use the train to get around — walking through the snow is painfully slow.
Once you're inside, most people make the Outposts their first stop. It is also where the largest number of players get stuck.

The two Outposts: no quests done, no Outpost — just snow at the gate
An Outpost doesn't go up simply because you walked there. Some players teleport in, find an empty field of snow, hammer the interact key for a while and conclude the game is bugged.
What you should be reading is the quest log, not the ground.
One quest for the Oasis, two for the Transport Bureau
Outpost · Teplo Oasis: first push Chapter VII, Act I of the Archon Quest, “A Snow-Buried Land Unloved by the Gods,” up to “Silence Alone Is Unfavored” and complete it, then clear the world quest “A Beautiful Holiday by the Oasis.” That unlocks it.
Outpost · Royal Rail Transport Bureau: the same opening — finish “Silence Alone Is Unfavored” first, then “Onward to the Crystal City,” then “Buried in Dust and Snow.” All three, or it stays shut.
Only when both are open do the matching Outpost Chronicle quests appear. “Silence Alone Is Unfavored” is the shared prerequisite, so clear it first and split the rest between the two. The Oasis needs a single quest, the Bureau needs two — don't count on raising both at once.
No button at the gate? The quests probably aren't finished
The co-op build interaction only exists once the quests are complete. Standing on the spot won't summon it.
So rather than circling the snow three times hunting for that button, open the quest log — whichever world quest you're missing is right there.
With the Outposts settled, next comes the biggest change in this version: the guns and the Shadow Realm.

The Shadow Realm and the two guns: finish the old ballad first
How the Shadow Realm clears
Once the “Old Ballad of Crystal Streams and Stone Chests” quest line is complete, the Shadow Realm east of Winglike Peak recedes, and you can enter and explore freely with any team composition.
Inside, combat is third-person shooter — a separate control scheme from the elemental fighting you're used to. Don't rush the monsters on your first entry; get comfortable with the reticle and reloading first. Panic under pressure is normal.
Two shotguns, no gacha required
7.2 adds two shotguns, “Sosluko's Searing Flame” and “Avisati's Mountain Hunt,” both earned through world quests. The Shadow Realm adds exactly two shotgun world quests; finish them and the guns are yours, with no gacha resources spent.
During early progression, get both into your hands first. With a gun and without one, the Shadow Realm is two different places.
Crucible Assault: wait for the stats to finish running
“Crucible Assault” adds three stages — “Interlocking Anvil,” “Fortified Harbor” and “Calamity Old Town” — with matching rewards. The “Extreme Record” screen runs a data-gathering period first and only opens once that finishes.
If you're chasing records, hold off. Play before the count ends and the run doesn't count. Wasted.
Guns in hand and the Shadow Realm open, what's left is the three monsters inside.

The three new monsters: a Starshine reaction makes them far easier
Reading through all three kits, the official tips point at the same thing: put a Starshine reaction on your team.
Tide Anchor: don't let it finish the hot drink
Tide Anchor is in New Kijie City. Every so often it takes a swig of a hot drink and builds Valor; fill the meter and it enters Fervor, hitting harder with sharply raised resistance to every element and to physical damage. Electro damage — or Electro damage that counts as Starshine reaction damage — drains that Valor and pushes it out of Fervor faster. When the Starshine reaction interferes, the drink itself gets interrupted.
So don't brute-force penetration here. The point is to keep that cup from being emptied. The moment it lifts the cup, pile on, and the enraged state barely gets off the ground.
Frostglass Mirror: its immunity gets switched off
Under a Starshine reaction, Frostglass Mirror no longer ignores Cryo damage, and its own Cryo application drops away too.
The monster was built to force a team swap. Bring the Starshine reaction and it becomes an ordinary target dummy — Cryo teams can finally hit it head-on.
Chimeras: break their rhythm and that's enough
“Chimera Scorpion-Tail” and “Chimera Croc-Hoof” are crossbred synthetic beasts; some of their behaviors are disrupted by the Starshine reaction.
Neither has a hard mechanic. Suppress the tempo and they fold. The names sound intimidating; you don't need to stack stats for them.
Mechanics covered. Last is order — and order is where early progression usually falls apart.

Progression order and resources: what to do first
One line through it: both Outposts and the Shadow Realm together
Ranked by return, the order runs: Chapter VII, Act I (unlocks the waypoint and the Outpost prerequisites) → “Gunshots in the Silent Land” → “Onward to the Crystal City” and “Buried in Dust and Snow” → the “Old Ballad of Crystal Streams and Stone Chests” line (opens the Shadow Realm) → “A Beautiful Holiday by the Oasis.”
The first four steps advance both Outposts and the Shadow Realm at the same time; the last one finishes the Oasis. It looks like five separate jobs, but it runs as a single line with no backtracking.
Fishing and Radiant Silk: pick them up as you pass
The new region has new fishing spots and lays out Radiant Silk as well. Both are long-haul collectibles — take what's on your route and don't stop to farm them.
Spiral Abyss: wait for November 16
The first Abyss cycle updates on November 16. Floor 11 gives the whole party +60% Electro DMG and +60% Geo DMG; Floor 12 gives +75% Crystallize DMG on the first half and +200 Elemental Mastery on the second.
There's no need to push hard these two weeks. The ley line disorder hasn't rotated yet, and whatever team you tune now will mostly be torn apart in a fortnight. Wait for the new cycle and build around the disorder — far less work.
Valery: use her if you pull her, no loss if you don't
Genshin Impact 7.2 banners: Valery is a 4-star Electro sword wielder, a support who brings Electro buffs and shields. She doesn't need a signature weapon; a 4-star weapon will do. Pull on Mitia's banner and she comes along with it, ready to field immediately.
Mitia's banner runs until 17:59 on 2026/11/24, alongside a Furina rerun and the “Epitome Invocation” weapon banner. Electro characters' ascension materials come from the Electro boss: 40 resin per run, 180 cap, 180 regenerating naturally per day — roughly four to five runs. Taking a new 5-star from level 1 to 90, counting the resin from weekly bosses and events, takes about two weeks.
Outpost Chronicles: no rush
Finishing an Outpost's co-op build opens its Chronicle quests. That is long-tail content; it doesn't affect this week's team building or the Abyss. Do it for the rewards, or leave it for later — it won't disappear.
7.2's Snezhnaya isn't hard, it's crowded. In the same two hours, “Gunshots in the Silent Land” buys you a waypoint, the Outpost prerequisites and the rail map; spend those two hours forcing your way into the Shadow Realm instead and you'll mostly just walk in circles in the snow.
That mail has two days left, the new Abyss cycle lands on November 16, and neither one is waiting for you.
Log in, claim the 300 Primogems, then move. Even Tide Anchor knows it needs a hot drink before it can fight — so do you.
Genshin Impact 7.2 Snezhnaya FAQ
Can I enter Snezhnaya without finishing the earlier chapters of Chapter VII?
A: Yes. Reach Adventure Rank 18 and complete Prologue Act III, and the auto-unlocked waypoint carries you straight into Chapter VII, Act I.
When does the bug-fix compensation expire?
A: Claim it by logging in before 06:00 on November 7, 2026. Once it expires, it is gone.
When can I explore the Shadow Realm freely?
A: It recedes after you complete the “Old Ballad of Crystal Streams and Stone Chests” quest line; the Shadow Realm also adds two shotgun world quests — finish them and the guns are yours.
Why is there no co-op build button at the Outpost?
A: The prerequisite quests aren't finished. The Oasis needs one, “A Beautiful Holiday by the Oasis”; the Transport Bureau needs two, “Onward to the Crystal City” and “Buried in Dust and Snow.”
Do the new shotguns need to be pulled?
A: No. Both come from world quests at zero gacha cost.
GameHub's guide section keeps a version-indexed chart mapping the progression route against the Outpost prerequisites, if you want to tick off progress.
Action checklist
- Log in today and claim the 300 Primogems for the bug-fix compensation — it closes at 06:00 on November 7.
- Teleport via the auto-unlocked waypoint to northeast of Frostbane Peak and go straight into Chapter VII, Act I.
- Finish “Gunshots in the Silent Land” first — it unlocks the waypoint and the Outpost prerequisites together.
- Do “Onward to the Crystal City” and “Buried in Dust and Snow” to unlock the Royal Rail Transport Bureau.
- Finish the “Old Ballad of Crystal Streams and Stone Chests” line before heading back into the Shadow Realm. Don't force it early.
“Gunshots in the Silent Land” goes first because the waypoint, the Outpost prerequisites and the rail map all hang off it — one step unlocks three lines at once.
