Patch 3.7 "镜锁妄世,心照红尘" landed on 2026-09-30 with three new five-piece Sonata sets: 衔梦照世之心, 镜影流电之瞬 and 茜染怀想之花, plus five new Echoes (one of them COST 4) and two new Tacet Fields (source: official Wuthering Waves 3.7 patch notice, 2026-09-30). This Wuthering Waves best teams-angled piece skips the tier list; who is strongest is a separate question and gets one paragraph in the team section.
Wuthering Waves 3.7 Echo Overview: Three Sets and COST 12
Applicable version: 3.7 "镜锁妄世,心照红尘" (launched 2026-09-30)
The three new Sonata sets
They point in three directions: 衔梦照世之心 leans sustained damage, 镜影流电之瞬 leans Electro and burst, 茜染怀想之花 leans buffing and rotation (source: official 3.7 patch notice, 2026-09-30). The notice gives names and counts only. Any guide quoting exact set multipliers as fixed values is guessing, so check the in-game set text.
How COST 12 splits
One character caps at COST 12, and the common split is 4+3+3+1+1 (source: in-game Echo system notes). The COST 4 slot holds the core Echo, the two COST 3 slots carry main stats, and the two COST 1 slots exist to complete the set.
Why the COST 1 slots cannot be cut
A correction worth making: this is not "cram in the highest COST Echoes", it is "make the five-piece bonus live, then talk main stats". Drop one COST 1 and the five-piece breaks, and the lost set effect usually hurts more than a few percentage points of main stat.

Wuthering Waves Echo Main Stats by Cost
COST 4 sets the ceiling
Only COST 4 Echoes roll Crit Rate or Crit DMG as a main stat (source: in-game Echo main stat list). Pick whichever you lack: under 50% Crit Rate take Crit Rate, above it take Crit DMG.
COST 3 wants elemental damage
COST 3 main stats include elemental damage bonus and ATK% (source: in-game Echo main stat list). For a main DPS, both COST 3 slots should be elemental damage, because elemental damage is a multiplier while ATK% is additive.
COST 1 exists to finish the set
COST 1 main stats are generic, mostly ATK% or HP% (source: in-game Echo main stat list). Its job is completing the five-piece, so a correct main stat is enough and substats can be ignored.

Wuthering Waves Echo Substats: Crit and Energy Regen
Crit first, but relative to your baseline
The usual priority is Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, Energy Regen, then flat ATK (source: community gearing consensus, not an official figure). The rule is "whatever you lack", not "whatever number is biggest": under 50% Crit Rate, one Crit Rate roll beats two Crit DMG rolls.
The Energy Regen ceiling
Energy Regen controls burst uptime, and main DPS units usually want 120% to 130% to avoid stalling (source: community gearing consensus, not an official figure). Above that range the extra regen does nothing, so substats should go back to crit.
When to stop farming
Three useful substats is finished. The fourth costs several times as much and adds a few percentage points. That is the line most players ignore: twenty extra runs for a fourth substat might save two seconds on one Tower floor.
Wuthering Waves Echo Replacement Order
Wrong main stat goes first
A gold Echo with the wrong main stat loses to a purple with the right one. Fix the COST 4 crit stat and the COST 3 elemental damage before chasing rarity.
Then substat count
Once main stats are correct, sort by useful substat count: three beats two beats one. Between two Echoes with the same main stat, level the one with more substats.
Set bonus last
Set bonuses are fixed values, main and sub stats are variable. Fix the variable part first, then spend resources on the fixed part, and you rework less.

Wuthering Waves 3.7: How Much Stamina Echo Farming Costs
Tacet Fields and weekly bosses
3.7 added two Tacet Fields as new farming points (source: official 3.7 patch notice, 2026-09-30). Fields settle in waves, each run costs Waveplates, and Echo drops are random per wave. Weekly bosses give fixed sets, which is the cheapest way to fill a missing slot.
Echoes per day
At 240 Waveplates a day and 60 per run, that is four runs, roughly three to five Echoes each (source: in-game drop path, order of magnitude only). Twelve to twenty Echoes a day means three to five days for a set with correct main stats.
Do not run out of Shell Credits
Echo upgrades consume Echo EXP and Shell Credits, and a full gold upgrade lands in the hundred-thousand range of credits (source: in-game upgrade screen). Bank seven figures of credits before a farming session, or you end up with Echoes you cannot level.

Wuthering Waves 3.7 Echo Decision Table
| Stage | What to do | Pass condition |
|---|---|---|
| Start | COST 4 crit, COST 3 elemental, COST 1 filler | Correct main stats |
| Transition | Complete the five-piece | Set bonus live |
| Functional | Three useful substats | Crit Rate ≥50% |
| Optimise | Energy Regen 120–130% | No rotation stall |
| Finish | Chase the fourth substat | Only at endgame |
Main DPS versus sub DPS
A main DPS takes the COST 4 slot and both COST 3 slots; a sub DPS is fine with 3+3+1. Pushing all resources into one character and leaving subs on transition gear is the cheapest way to run three Tower teams.

Wuthering Waves FAQ
Do Echoes have to be five of the same set?
A: For a main DPS, yes, because the set effect scales by piece count. A sub DPS can run 2+2+1 as long as main stats are right (source: in-game set text).
Is a gold Echo always better than purple?
A: No. A gold with the wrong main stat loses to a purple with the right one, and a COST 4 gold without crit ranks behind a purple with crit.
How many substats count as finished?
A: Three useful substats. The fourth is an endgame chase that adds a few percentage points for several times the cost.
How much Energy Regen is enough?
A: Main DPS units usually want 120% to 130% to keep the rotation alive; beyond that it is wasted and the slot should go back to crit (source: community gearing consensus, not an official figure).

- Put elemental damage on both COST 3 slots instead of ATK%.
