This Zenless Zone Zero team comps-angled piece does not rank anyone. It answers three questions: how many days are left in the first half, how many pulls a guarantee really costs, and what it takes to make a freshly pulled agent field-ready. The usual line in Zenless Zone Zero best teams discussions is "both are strong"; below is when that is actually true.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 First Half: Before 11:59 on November 11
Applicable version: 3.3 (launched 2026-10-21; first-half channel ends 2026-11-11 11:59)
Two Anomaly slots in one window
The 3.3 first half runs Phoebe (Fire, Anomaly) and Verina (Wind, Anomaly) together, with both Anomaly W-Engines listed alongside (source: ZZZ 3.3 version overview, 2026-10-21). Same damage type, same role, same window. That is exactly the layout that pushes people into pulling twice.
What the second half changes
The second half switches to Severian, a Wind Attack agent, and reruns Nom (source: same overview). After November 11 neither Phoebe nor Verina is in the pool, and no official rerun date exists. That is the only hard constraint in the first half.
There is a subtler point about pity carryover. Your pull count keeps accumulating across channels, but the featured-guarantee layer does not: once the channel changes, the "lost the 50/50, next S is featured" state is judged against the new banner. If you are saving for Severian, stop at around 70 pulls in the first half rather than spending the full 90 on an agent you will not maintain.

Zenless Zone Zero Channel Rates: 0.6%, 90 Pulls and 50%
How the hard pity works
S-Rank agents have a 0.6% base rate and are guaranteed within 90 pulls. When an S-Rank drops, there is a 50% chance it is the featured agent and a 50% chance it is a standard or off-banner agent (source: in-game channel probability disclosure). Worst case is therefore 180 pulls: lose the 50/50 at 90, then hit the guarantee at 90 more.
A correction worth making: 90 pulls does not guarantee Phoebe, it guarantees an S-Rank. The featured split is only half, so treat 180 pulls as the real "must have" budget.
The W-Engine channel is a separate system
W-Engines use different numbers: 0.8% base rate, 80-pull guarantee and a 75% featured share (source: in-game channel probability disclosure). It does not share pity with the agent channel, and losing an agent 50/50 does nothing to your engine counter. Any plan that mixes the two counters is wrong from the first line.
What a pull costs
One pull costs 160 Polychrome or a single tape, so 90 pulls is 14,400 Polychrome (source: in-game channel screen). With the monthly pass plus dailies you bank roughly 60 to 70 pulls a month, which means six weeks from zero to a guarantee.
Tapes and Polychrome are equivalent in value but not in shelf life: Polychrome keeps, tapes expire. If you hold both, spend tapes first, because the expiry date is stricter than the pity counter.

Zenless Zone Zero: Phoebe or Verina?
Follow the hole in your Anomaly team
The only rule: does your current Anomaly team have a reliable Fire applier? If not, take Phoebe. No reliable Wind Anomaly, take Verina. If you have neither and can only afford one, Phoebe is the safer pick because the Fire Anomaly support pool is deeper.
The cost of pulling both
Both, worst case, is 360 pulls. Even at average luck you are looking at roughly 270, which no monthly-pass player saves inside one patch. Double-Anomaly swapping is an upgrade for accounts that already own one side, not a starting point for accounts that own neither.
If you already own one
If you already run a Fire Anomaly main, Verina adds more because two Anomaly types can alternate procs. If you already run Wind, take Phoebe. The reasoning is simple: a new damage slot is always worth more than a duplicate one.

Zenless Zone Zero: What One Agent Really Costs
Pull side: 90 or 180
At a 0.6% base rate with a 90-pull guarantee, the median S-Rank lands around pull 70 to 80, the guarantee is 90 and the worst case is 180 (source: in-game channel probability disclosure). Budget in whole multiples of 90 pulls, never 85.
Build side: the material bill
For Phoebe, ascension needs 4 basic, 32 advanced and 30 controller Anomaly certification seals plus 800,000 Dennies; level 1 to 60 also needs 300 Senior Investigator Records and 900,000 EXP (source: bwiki Phoebe page, updated 2026-09-22). Every new S-Rank sits in the same order of magnitude, so check your stock before pulling.
Drive discs need stamina too
A finished set is 4 Chaos Jazz plus 2 Freedom Blues, with slot 4 on Anomaly Proficiency or ATK, slot 5 on Fire DMG and slot 6 on Anomaly Mastery (source: bwiki drive disc index, 2026-10). Farming the right main stats usually costs two to three days of stamina. Reserve that before you pull, or the new agent sits at level 40 in your roster.
Slot 6 matters most because Anomaly Mastery drives buildup speed. When it does not drop, no amount of crit substats buys back the rotation: an agent without Mastery on slot 6 typically lands the first Anomaly proc three to five seconds later, which in multi-wave stages is close to a lost rotation.

Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 First-Half Decision Table
| Your account | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fire Anomaly, no Wind | Pull Verina | New slot, highest value |
| Wind Anomaly, no Fire | Pull Phoebe | Deeper Fire support pool |
| Neither, only 90 pulls | Pull Phoebe | More forgiving team building |
| Both covered | Skip, wait for part two | Duplicate role, low marginal gain |
| Under 90 pulls | Save first | Below pity is pure gambling |
Three account types, three answers
New account: pull Phoebe, the Fire Anomaly core comes together fast.
Mid-game: check your main's element and fill the missing side.
Veteran: skip the first half and bank Polychrome for Severian.

Zenless Zone Zero FAQ
Does 90 pulls guarantee the featured agent?
A: No. 90 pulls guarantee an S-Rank, and the featured share is 50%, so the guaranteed featured agent can take 180 pulls (source: in-game channel probability disclosure).
Can agent pity carry into the W-Engine channel?
A: No. The two channels are independent; W-Engines use an 80-pull guarantee at a 0.8% base rate (source: in-game channel probability disclosure).
How many materials does Phoebe need?
A: 4 basic, 32 advanced and 30 controller Anomaly certification seals plus 800,000 Dennies, and 300 Senior Investigator Records for level 1 to 60 (source: bwiki Phoebe page).
Will the first-half agents rerun?
A: No official rerun schedule has been published. Phoebe and Verina leave the pool at 11:59 on November 11, and the second half belongs to Severian and Nom.
