Version 4.1, “Death at Romonel Manor,” goes live on November 5. There are two new 6-stars, Pesta (Star) and Evelyn (Beast), plus a new Psychube, “Pristine Catafalque.” There's also the British Library collab “Pages and Respite,” the 8-bit Arcade Show, the UTTU Flash Gathering “Tales of Wind and Snow,” and reruns of “Spotlight Flashback” and “Mane Post.” I covered Pesta yesterday, so this piece is all Evelyn: how to build her, how far to push Insight, and which Psychube to take.

Reverse: 1999 Version 4.1: What This Patch Actually Gives You
The check-in is the most concrete part. Reverse: 1999 Version 4.1 opened a limited-time login event that stacks up to 14 pulls in total. Just log in, no quest conditions attached. For F2P players that's about half a pity, one tap a day, and it doesn't come back once it expires: forget it and it's gone. Our full calendar is always kept current on the Reverse: 1999 page at GameHub.
Rank the rest by return. The main event, “Death at Romonel Manor,” comes first, since it pays out upgrade materials and pull currency. The UTTU Flash Gathering and Mane Post sit a tier below, mainly for Psychubes and materials. The 8-bit Arcade Show is more about gameplay, so leaving it for last costs you nothing.

Reverse: 1999 Evelyn's Role: Which Teams She Fits
Evelyn in Reverse: 1999 is a 6-star Beast DPS, and she takes the single-target burst route. Her job is clear: chew through high-HP single targets. With damage buffs and Ultimate charge fed in up front, one burst rotation can shave off most of the enemy's health bar.
Does she clash with Pesta? No. One is Star, one is Beast, two separate afflatus lines each covering its own side. If you already have a built Star main DPS, she fills the other line; build whichever side is currently empty.
That said, she is picky about teams. Pure control teams won't do, and under-invested teams won't either. Her whole output rides on a single burst rotation: break the charge and the loop falls apart, and her damage halves. If a team can't even scrape together the charge, expecting that burst isn't realistic. New players with a shallow roster should first build one general-purpose team up to event-clearing level, then come back and build around her. Doing it the other way round feels miserable.
The usual Beast setup is Evelyn plus a damage-buff support, then either charge or healing. What Beast teams fear most is an interrupted damage rotation, so the healer slot actually ranks high. If your healer is underleveled, drop a buffer rather than the healer.

Reverse: 1999 Evelyn Build: How to Spend Insight and Resonance
Insight III first, and take the damage node on the Insight II branch. Part of the materials can be bought from the 4.1 event shop: clear the shop first, then farm the permanent stages, and you save a whole batch of stamina.
For Resonance, take ATK and crit first, survivability later. She's a DPS, so investing in the wrong direction is a real damage tier lost, and all her multipliers sit in single-target burst with no other way to make it up. Once you're done, go run the current event's hardest stage: clearing it means you built her right.
Don't rush Portray. Portray 0 clears events, 1 to 2 is the value range, and past 3 you're in whale territory. Remember the F2P order: Insight III, then Psychube, and Portray last.

Reverse: 1999 Version 4.1 Psychubes: Is Pristine Catafalque Worth It?
“Pristine Catafalque” is the new 6-star Reverse: 1999 Psychube added in 4.1. It generally comes from the banner or an event exchange; check the in-game notice for the exact route.
Psychube bonuses are designed around role, and the 6-star entry aimed at DPS is usually a tier above generic options. Evelyn is a new 6-star, so her signature Psychube is her ceiling build. Don't panic if you don't have it. A generic damage Psychube carries fine as an interim, and the gap is roughly one substat tier.
Exchange order: her first, supports second. A 4-star support Psychube can hold up for a long time, but get the DPS one wrong and you simply won't clear the current high-difficulty stage. Which is more urgent doesn't need arithmetic.
Once everything is in place, it still comes back to two practical questions: what to save for this patch, and whether to build her at all.

Is Reverse: 1999's Evelyn Worth Building, and How Should You Order Resources?
On the pull side, 14 login pulls plus event rewards get an F2P account to roughly 20 pulls. Twenty is nowhere near pity, so rather than gambling here, bank it for 4.2.
Send upgrade resources to Insight and Resonance materials first, Psychube enhancement fodder after. Shop exchanges follow the same order: Insight materials, Resonance materials, generic materials. The first two are hard costs, so buying them early never hurts.
Whether to build her comes down to one test: on the current high-difficulty stage, have you ever been stuck because your Beast DPS wasn't good enough? If yes, take her to Insight III. If not, save the resources for 4.2. Accounts that already have a built Beast main DPS can treat her as an optional upgrade, ranked behind supports and Psychubes.
In the end, those opening lines weren't casual. Banners close, check-ins expire, and stamina spent in the wrong place doesn't come back on its own. A guide can give you the order and the odds, but what you're missing and where you're stuck is something only you know.

Reverse: 1999 FAQ: The Specific Questions About Evelyn
Does Evelyn need her signature Psychube?
A: No. Her signature, “Pristine Catafalque,” runs about one tier above a generic damage Psychube. Without it, a 4-star stopgap still clears the current event.
Insight II or Insight III?
A: Insight III. Insight II only unlocks the mechanic; Insight III is what maxes the damage, and the difference is roughly 15% to 20% output.
Where do I claim the 14 pulls?
A: In the event screen after logging in. They stack up across Version 4.1 and won't be reissued after expiry, so log in and tap once a day.
Should I pull Pesta this patch?
A: Look at your afflatus gap. If you already have a Star main DPS, skip her; if not, pull. Both new 6-stars land in the same patch, so on a tight budget fill the gap first.
When does the 4.1 event end?
A: Whatever the in-game event page shows. No unified end date has been announced yet, and main events usually run to the end of the patch.
Reverse: 1999 Version 4.1 Action Checklist
- Nov 7: log in for the day-one check-in reward and confirm where the 14 pulls are claimed.
- Event shop: buy Insight materials first, then Resonance materials.
- Evelyn: Insight II to Insight III; Resonance into ATK and crit first.
- Psychube: Pristine Catafalque goes to Evelyn if you have it; otherwise run a generic damage Psychube as an interim.
- Pulls: around 20 isn't enough for pity, so saving for 4.2 is safer.
An updated version of this guide will go up on gghubs.com once 4.2 launches.
