To Be Clear: None of the Three Is “Strongest” — Only “Right for You”
If one week only covers one set, order matters more than luck. This piece won't rank stat sheets — it just straightens out the steps you actually have to take, so read on and skip a few detours. And to say it up front: none of the three is the strongest, there's only what fits. The official announcement gave us names and piece counts and nothing else, and the real numbers live in the in-game stat text — so “which set is strongest” was the wrong question from the start. There is really only one criterion: which stat your main DPS scales on, and which stat the set bonus lands on. A five-piece set that never feeds your main DPS — do the prettiest substats in the world matter to you?
Heart of the World-Lighting Dream is one of this patch's headline sets, tied to the new region's core Echo line — but headline doesn't mean it fits you. Before you farm, open the set details in-game and check which stat the bonus actually lands on; if it doesn't line up, don't start. The stamina you save is worth more than anything the set offers. Flash of Mirror and Lightning and Flower of Madder-Dyed Longing are the counterparts on the other two stat lines, which brings up the most common misconception of all: you aren't picking the highest-numbered set of the three, you're picking the one that serves your kind of main DPS. Can you mix two sets? Sure — but under five pieces you simply don't get the full effect, so count pieces before you commit.
Then there's five-piece versus 2+2. A full five-piece gets the whole effect, at the price of re-farming four pieces' worth of substats. If you're a veteran already sitting on finished Echoes, do the math first: does swapping the entire set outweigh keeping the double-crit rolls you already have? More often than not, a 2+2 stopgap is both cheaper and steadier. It's a calculation that rarely gets a serious hearing in the endlessly recycled “how should I build the tier-0 Wuthering Waves characters” threads — everyone is comparing whose set is newer, nobody is counting whose costs less.

Where to Farm First: How to Get into Mengshu Tianluo, and Where the Tacet Fields Are
3.7's new region is Mengshu Tianluo, and it holds seven areas: Xinxiang Labyrinth, Jinxin Domain, Qixin Domain, Yixin Domain, Chenxin Domain, Xuxin Domain and Xiangxin Domain. Memorize the way in: follow the Tide Quest Chapter IV · Act IV, “Mengshu: Appearance Born of the Mind.” You can't click it open from the map — try skipping the quest and teleporting straight in, and the gate will politely turn you away. The two new Tacet Fields are the Chenxin Domain field and the Jinxin Domain field, and there's also a new Mengshu Tianluo Tacet Discord settlement. Those three are your entry points for the new sets: unlock the area first, then enter the field. Don't reverse that order.
There are five new Echoes in total — Jiexing Sha, Juexi Po, Xunxiao Lanceguard, Qizhan Marionette and Yuming Serpent — plus one brand-new COST 4 Echo. That COST 4 decides whether your whole COST spread can be filled out, so its priority isn't “one of,” it's “first.” Lock it down, then worry about the other four. There's also one easy-to-miss quality-of-life win: Echo stacking. Back when low-tier Echoes crammed your bag, clearing them meant deleting one at a time until your fingers ached; now duplicates stack, and farming efficiency genuinely goes up a notch. Still, clear your bag before you farm — once the stack cap is hit, drops really do get squeezed out.

Splitting 12 COST: Lock the COST 4 First
Echoes in hand, the next job is allocating COST — and if this step goes wrong, everything you farmed before it was wasted. The Echo system caps you at 12 COST, and the mainstream spread is 4-3-3-1-1, which lands on exactly 12. What's so good about it? All five pieces count toward the set, and the main-stat slot stays cleanly reserved for the COST 4: that piece carries the crit rate or crit damage roll, and the whole value of 3.7's new COST 4 Echo is that you no longer have to choose between set bonus and main stat. So it has to land first. The two COST 3 pieces usually carry elemental damage bonus, healing bonus or energy regeneration; the two COST 1 pieces take flat ATK or a fixed attribute. The allocation order is fixed: settle the COST 4, fill the gap with COST 3s, close out with COST 1s. Do it the other way round, stacking COST 1s first, and you get the classic “looks like you're about to graduate, but you never took the right step.” If a qualifying COST 4 main stat simply won't drop, 4-4-3-1 is a legitimate alternative — one fewer COST 1, at the cost of one substat slot. Whether that trade is worth it depends on what you already have.
Substat priority: crit rate and crit damage first, main stat second, energy regeneration third. Status-effect teams and direct-damage teams differ only in that third tier — the first two are the same on any set. There's no reason to rewrite your own criteria just because the set is new.

The Farming Order: Get It Wrong and You Waste the Week
One more step: the order has to be right too. Step one, unlock Mengshu Tianluo — push Tide Quest Chapter IV · Act IV to the end, unlock all seven areas, then head into the Tacet Fields. Force the farm with the quest unfinished and you'll just stand at the gate admiring the scenery. Step two, clear your bag and confirm stacking: 3.7's stacked storage needs room, so purge low-tier Echoes before you start. Once the bag is full, drops get squeezed out, and plenty of people have learned that the hard way. Step three, lock the COST 4, then fill the other four. Why does it have to come first? A COST 4 with the wrong main stat is a wasted farm — and the cost isn't one domain run, it's your whole week.
Honestly, the worst feeling was never “it didn't drop.” It's “it dropped, and the main stat is wrong.”

Phantom Echoes and Tale Quests: Do Them in Passing, Don't Let Them Eat Farm Time
With the farming schedule settled, 3.7 leaves two other categories — neither touches your numbers, but both eat your time. Phantom Echoes add “Phantom: Xunxiao Lanceguard” and “Phantom: Never-Dying Hunter”: cosmetic and collection content, plain and simple, with no bearing on stats. Collect them if you like, but don't let them crowd out set farming — what you're short on was never that Phantom, it's substats. As for the new Tale Quest category, the first entry is “A Heart Like the Moon, Love Entrusted to Dust,” unlocked by finishing Tide Quest Chapter IV · Act IV, “Mengshu: Appearance Born of the Mind.” It hands out story and standard rewards, so just do it in passing, no need to schedule it — you were going to push the main story anyway.
Back to the question we opened with: with all three sets live at once, is “which one is strongest” really what leads people astray? By now you probably have an answer. What actually burns a week is a scrambled order, uncounted pieces, and main stats nobody looked at. And one step further out: stats always go stale, but the sequence — check the stat line first, count the pieces second, read the substats last — will still serve you next patch. So tonight there's really only one thing to do: pick a set and farm it clean. Leave the “should I farm all three” agonizing to the checklist below.

Wuthering Waves 3.7 FAQ
Do I have to farm all three new Sonata sets?
A: No. Each set serves one kind of main DPS, so farm the single set that matches your main DPS's stat line. Mixing two sets leaves you short of five pieces, which means no full effect.
Are there other COST spreads?
A: Yes. The cap is 12 COST, and 4-3-3-1-1 is the standard, but 4-4-3-1 also works — one fewer COST 1, at the cost of one substat slot. Which one to pick depends on whether you can find a qualifying COST 4 main stat.
Do I need to finish the quest before entering the new region?
A: Yes. Finish Tide Quest Chapter IV · Act IV, “Mengshu: Appearance Born of the Mind,” first — only then do the seven areas unlock. The Tacet Field entrances sit inside those areas, so skipping the quest locks you out.

- Chase crit and main stats only — save the third tier until you're done building.
We'll compile 3.7's set stat tables and farming routes in the GameHub guide hub; where numbers shift, the in-game text is authoritative. If you want the spread worked out for your own main DPS, leave a comment at gghubs.com and we'll re-run it against your roster. A lot of this material on Wuthering Waves guide sites is the announcement copied out almost word for word — we'd rather spell out why the choice is what it is.
