Pre-download and maintenance
Pre-download for 4.6 opened at 14:00 on 24 September 2026, letting Trailblazers pull part of the client early. Maintenance is scheduled for 06:00 on 28 September 2026, expected to last five hours, after which the game moves to 4.6. Compensation is 300 Stellar Jade for Trailblaze Level 4 or higher before 06:00 on 28 September.
What to do right now
There is a gap on both sides of maintenance. Pre-downloading saves waiting time on patch day, but the thing that genuinely needs handling in advance is the Currency War settlement, because it is bound to the version boundary rather than to your personal progress.
Honkai Star Rail Currency War: What Resets and What Stays
V4.6 does two things to Currency War: Zero-Sum Game. It doubles promotion points, and it announces that the season is ending.
Double promotion points
After the update, completing a match grants double promotion points. There is no stated limit, and the point of the change is clearly to shorten the end-of-season sprint.

- Data Bank rewards and collection progress
- Promotion level rewards and level
- Standard Gambit rank rewards
- Expected yield rewards
- Season advantage nodes and activation items
- Your win streak
One exception: if your win streak is 10 or higher when the season ends, that number is recorded in the season trophy's details.
What does not reset
Startup Guide rewards and already-activated nodes in Permanent Advantages are outside the reset. Your season rank also carries into the new season's starting rank, so pushing promotion levels is not only about this season's payout.
The distinction matters when you are short on time. Bond Link and Data Bank progress are one-off collections: once the season closes, the collection itself is gone, so a half-finished Data Bank run is worth more than an extra rank. Standard Gambit rank rewards and expected yields are the opposite: they are tiered payouts, which means partial progress there converts into partial rewards automatically. If you can only play a few more matches, run the mode with collectible progress rather than the one with tiered payouts.
Honkai Star Rail 4.6 Relics: Two New Cavern Sets
4.6 adds the Cavern of Corrosion "Hollow of Lament", which drops the new Cavern Relics.

Who should farm them
Heretic of the Devoured Fruit is unambiguous: basic-attack damage dealers. The 36% Basic ATK DMG and the 20% ATK on cast are two conditional bonuses that fire together, which suits characters who chain basic attacks. Trickery of the Dreaming Star leans toward supports, requires casting on a single ally, and gates its second half behind holding 10 or more "Nice Work!" points. If you cannot hold 10 points, half that 4-piece does not exist.
The Planar Ornament double-drop event runs from 04:00 on 19 September to 03:59 on 28 September 2026, granting double rewards in Caverns of Corrosion . Plan stamina allocation before 4.6 goes live if you want to test the new sets properly.

Shop additions
4.6 adds two outfits to the in-game shop: "Moon Awaits the Bloom" for Feiying and "Warmth at the Cloud's Edge" for Fengjin.
The version 4.8 collaboration
The Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero crossover goes live in version 4.8, with Ellen and Astra Yao arriving as collaboration characters . That matters for long-range pull planning: if you want both banners, versions 4.6 through 4.7 need surplus Stellar Jade.
Planning stamina and Jade across the gap
Counting back from maintenance, 24 September to 28 September is the settlement's golden window: pre-download is live, double promotion points are active, and matches can be concentrated here. The double-drop event ends at 03:59 on 28 September, leaving a pure waiting period until maintenance at 06:00. On the Jade side, 4.6 to 4.8 spans two versions, so an account wanting both banners needs a surplus; if you only intend to take one, choose the role your roster is missing rather than the character art you like most.
