Genshin Impact 7.1 Overview: Two New 5-Stars at Once
Patch timing and banners
Version 7.1 finished updating at 07:00 on September 23, 2026 (source: official in-game announcement). Vesna's banner runs under "Warm Winds Dancing" and Voyanisha's under "Surging Waves Recount", both with boosted rates.
Two side events run alongside the banners: "Silver Feathers Tracing the Moon" awards the event-exclusive weapon "Silver Lamp" (one-handed sword), and "Perilous Domain" opens the Chaotic Ley Line challenge .
Anniversary window
7.1 is 2026's anniversary patch, with the celebration landing on September 28 and the "Anniversary Album" web event going live the same day for Primogems.
Genshin Impact Vesna Mechanics: Playing the Star Swirl Carry
Floating state and spirit blade energy
Vesna's normal attack is a six-hit combo, and her charged attack lunges forward with an AoE Anemo slam. Her Elemental Skill opens a persistent floating state that continuously accumulates spirit blade energy; once full, it unlocks an enhanced Skill with a large Anemo AoE .
Her Burst, "Spirit Blade Meteor Strike", summons blades that convert into Star Spirit Blades, her engine for reliably triggering Star Swirl at high frequency. The practical note is that floating means sustained on-field damage, so positioning during the float matters more than it does for carries who weave in and out.
Constellations versus C0 value
C1 improves her rotation and adds Skill uses, C2 grants a party-wide attack buff, and C6 substantially raises the damage ceiling. C0 already delivers the complete core kit, so if your budget is limited, prioritise her weapon and teammates over constellations.
Genshin Impact Vesna Artifacts and Weapons
Substat priority
Her core stats are attack, crit rate and crit damage. For artifacts, take crit rate or crit damage on the circlet depending on your weapon, an Anemo damage bonus goblet, and an attack percentage sands. Filter substats in the order crit rate and crit damage first, attack percentage second.
The general rule for direct-damage Anemo carries applies: bring crit stats into a workable band before chasing attack. If your weapon carries high crit rate, you can safely choose a crit damage circlet.
Weapon choices
Take her signature sword first. Below that, any 5-star sword providing crit rate or elemental damage bonus works as a transition. At 4-star, pick a crit rate or attack percentage stat stick rather than a weapon with a fancier passive but a weaker main stat - main stat differences convert more reliably in most content.
Genshin Impact Voyanisha Build: An Off-Field Support Who Stacks HP
The two shred talents
Voyanisha's value is almost entirely in her passives. Her first passive has two mutually exclusive shred logic branches: triggering Frozen on the team lowers the target's Hydro and Cryo resistance by 25%, while triggering Swirl or Star Swirl provides 30% Cryo and Anemo resistance shred. Only one branch can activate.
That exclusivity means your team's element mix decides which shred tier you receive. Going Freeze locks you into the Frozen branch; going Star Swirl puts you on the Swirl side. Do not expect both to stack.
Why C0 is already complete
Her second passive opens her mermaid form, amplifying Swirl and Star Swirl damage based on 15% of her own max HP while also raising Cryo, Anemo and Hydro damage. Her Burst costs 60 energy, so rotation pressure is low, and her core stat is HP because max HP converts directly into support buffs.
That makes her a textbook C0-complete support: the kit closes at C0 and constellations are mostly numbers and comfort. Her signature weapon grants a party-wide attack buff; budget players should run Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers as the transition option.

Genshin Impact 7.1 Abyss Team Compositions
Three teams with rotations
| Team | Configuration | Weapon / artifacts | Rotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Star Swirl endgame | Vesna + Voyanisha + Odette + Faruzan | Vesna on crit stats | Voyanisha applies Hydro and shred, Odette amplifies, Vesna floats and deals damage |
| High-investment direct | Vesna + Voyanisha + Odette + Bennett | Bennett on HP/healing | Bennett Burst, Voyanisha shred, Vesna dumps her burst window |
| Budget transition | Vesna + Voyanisha + Cryo Traveler + 4-star grouping | Crit stats on Vesna first | Group enemies, apply off-field aura, Vesna triggers Star Swirl |
Team-building logic
The 7.1 flagship setup is the full Star Swirl team: Voyanisha handles sustained Hydro application, party healing and three-element shred while holding a Freeze environment; Vesna deals high-frequency on-field damage to trigger Star Swirl; Odette amplifies reaction damage; Faruzan adds Anemo buffs.
Both characters work independently, though. Voyanisha slots into any Hydro or Cryo shell, and Vesna can run Star Swirl with Cryo supports alone. Players with limited Primogems can pull one.
Genshin Impact 7.1 Pull Planning and Primogems
Pity math
Character event banners guarantee a 5-star within 90 wishes, and if the 5-star is not the featured unit, the next 5-star is guaranteed to be featured - so budget up to 180 wishes from zero. That is roughly 14,400 Primogems for 90 wishes and 28,800 for 180.
One character needs about 14,400 banked. If you want both Vesna and Voyanisha, plan for two full guarantee budgets.
Who to pull first
The test is simple: no on-field Anemo carry means Vesna, no off-field support and shred means Voyanisha. Also note that character and weapon banner pity counters are separate - dumping wishes into the weapon banner before locking your character easily derails the whole patch plan.

Genshin Impact 7.1 FAQ
Q: When did Genshin Impact 7.1 launch?
A: The update completed at 07:00 on September 23, 2026 under the name "Requiem for the Underworld" (source: official in-game announcement).
Q: Do Vesna and Voyanisha need to be pulled together?
A: No. They have the highest synergy together but both work independently. Pull Vesna for on-field damage, Voyanisha for off-field support and shred.
Q: Why does Voyanisha stack HP?
A: Her second passive amplifies Swirl and Star Swirl damage based on 15% of her own max HP while raising Cryo, Anemo and Hydro damage, so max HP converts directly into support value.
Q: Can Voyanisha's two shred effects trigger at once?
A: No. Frozen lowers Hydro and Cryo resistance by 25%, while Swirl or Star Swirl provides 30% Cryo and Anemo shred. They are mutually exclusive.
Q: How many Primogems for one limited 5-star?
A: About 14,400 for 90 wishes, or 28,800 for a full 180-wish guarantee.

- Pick either the Frozen or Star Swirl shred branch in your team - do not mix
