Palworld is a multiplayer open-world survival crafting game developed and published by the Japanese studio Pocketpair. The launch was one of the most striking in recent PC history: Palworld sold one million copies within its first eight hours and reached 2,101,867 concurrent players on Steam — the second-highest figure the platform has ever recorded. Palworld rose to viral fame for its delightful contrast between adorable Pals working for players and gun-toting adventures. Boasting freeform gameplay and a laid-back pace, it is a smash-hit survival title that blends casual enjoyment with strategic depth. It came to PlayStation 5 on 24 September 2024 and macOS on 4 March 2025. Palworld left Early Access on 10 July 2026 with version 1.100.427, which Pocketpair calls the biggest update in the game's history: 72 new Pals for a total of 287, the Sunreach floating sky islands, the World Tree main-story endgame region, a level cap raised from 65 to 80, new Awakening and Mutation systems, and a wide rework of combat, bases, quests and balance. The 1.0 update was free for existing owners, and the price has remained $29.99 throughout.

Fortnite is an online multiplayer title developed by Epic Games that blends third-person shooter action with building mechanics. Epic has committed never to sell items that grant a competitive advantage, monetising through cosmetic outfits and battle passes instead, and the game evolves through regular seasonal updates. Beyond Battle Royale, the Fortnite ecosystem now hosts more than 345,000 games built by third-party developers using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), spanning genres from racing and deathruns to horror and tycoon games. On 19 March 2026, Fortnite returned to Google Play worldwide, launching alongside the Fortnite Showdown Battle Royale season; it is also available through the Epic Games Store on Android devices worldwide and on iOS devices in the European Union.

Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, released worldwide on 25 February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with the worldbuilding and mythology provided by American fantasy author George R. R. Martin. The game is set in the Lands Between, a realm once ruled by Queen Marika and her divine offspring; after the Elden Ring was shattered, the land fell into decay and its inhabitants were left without order. Players control a customisable Tarnished — an exile who has regained the guidance of Grace — on a quest to repair the Elden Ring and rise as the new Elden Lord. Its design pairs a vast, freely explorable open world of sweeping fields, underground depths and treacherous dungeons with punishing boss encounters that reward careful reading of enemy patterns and patient build-crafting. In Elden Ring, players venture across vast open landscapes and delve into sprawling underground dungeons to uncover the unknown, brave formidable perils at every turn, and experience an ensemble drama woven from the conflicting interests and stakes of its rich cast of characters. Since launch the game has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and received the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. On 28 August 2026 the Tarnished Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2, bundling the 2022 base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new armour sets and customisation options for Torrent's appearance; the additional content is also sold separately on other platforms as the Tarnished Pack DLC.
