Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 Shiyu Defense Guide: Critical Node Buffs and Team Rotation

Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 timeline and compensation
Version 3.2 went live on 2026/09/09 06:00 and runs 42 days, ending 2026/10/21 06:00. Server maintenance compensation and a bug-fix compensation each grant 300 Polychrome to players who were Inter-Knot level 4 or higher before the update. The bug-fix compensation must be claimed before 2026/10/09 23:59.
New agents and W-Engines
The new S-rank agents are Kelailei (Electric · Fengyu), available from the 「Red Moon Rising」 channel, and Luoxi (Wind · Rupture), from the 「Ember Night Lullaby」 channel. Their signature W-Engines are Scarlet Desire (Fengyu) and Crimson Moon Silver Coffin (Rupture). The A-rank Blood Marrow Box (Fengyu) is selectable as a Battle Pass gift after reaching level 30 on the growth or deluxe plan.
Why the phase schedule matters more than raw power
Each Shiyu phase rewards a different damage profile. If your only built team is a generic crit DPS team, phase 2's Fire/Electric buffs and phase 3's PEN Ratio buffs will not carry you; matching the team to the phase saves more time than squeezing extra crit rolls out of Drive Discs.
Zenless Zone Zero Critical Node buffs: all three phases
The Critical Node always lists three buffs per phase, and each one points at a different archetype: Razor/Stun, Anomaly, and Burst/PEN.
| Phase | Key buffs | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Razor DMG +25%, DEF +15%; on crit against a stunned enemy, Stun DMG Multiplier +20% for 10s (refreshes) | High-crit teams that keep enemies stunned |
| Phase 2 | Razor DMG +20%; killing a normal enemy restores 15 Energy to Rupture agents; after a Chain Attack hits, enemy Stun Recovery slows 15% for 15s | Rupture-core teams |
| Phase 3 | Razor DMG +20%; EX Special, Enhanced Special and Ultimate hits grant PEN Ratio +10%, and ignore 15% Electric DMG RES while the enemy is stunned | Burst and Electric teams |

Anomaly and Proficiency bonuses
Phase 1's third buff adds Ether DMG +20% and Anomaly Proficiency +20, plus Stun DMG Multiplier +20% for 15s after an Attribute Anomaly. Phase 2 splits into Ice/Ether (DMG +25%, Anomaly Buildup +15%, enemy DEF -10% for 10s after an anomaly) and Fire/Electric (DMG +35%, Rupture Stun value +15%, Stun DMG Multiplier +30% and Stun Recovery -15% for 20s after a stun).
Team-size conditional bonuses
One easy-to-miss condition: with 2 or 3 Anomaly agents on the team, Anomaly Proficiency rises 20 or 60 points. Phase 3 adds Anomaly DMG +10% or +50% under the same condition and grants 500 or 1500 initial Decibel. Anomaly teams are not just viable this version; the team composition itself is the buff.
Zenless Zone Zero Kelailei build: the Fengyu material path
Kelailei's kit revolves around Razor DMG and the new Fengyu specialty, and 3.2 adds a dedicated material chain for it. Do not follow the old ascension route.
Certificates and coupling tests
Agent Promotion adds the Fengyu Drill stage, granting Basic, Advanced and Edgebearer Fengyu Certificates. W-Engine Modification adds the Fengyu Coupling Test, granting Fengyu Components, Reinforced Fengyu Components and Specialized Fengyu Components. Run both lines together, or your Core Skill level will stall on W-Engine materials.
Core Skill materials and shop exchange
Professional Challenge adds the Conqueror stage, which drops the Core Skill upgrade item High-Dimensional Data: Synthetic Core. Notorious Hunt adds the Kusariku stage, dropping Counterfeit Core, also purchasable from the Outpost Logistics shop's Legacy Vault. The Signal Supply list offers Advanced Fengyu Certificates and Reinforced Fengyu Components as a supplement.
Zenless Zone Zero Luoxi teams and Drive Disc logic
Luoxi is Wind · Rupture, which lines up with phase 2: killing normal enemies restores 15 Energy to Rupture agents, and Chain Attacks slow enemy Stun Recovery.
Main stat and substat order
Since version 3.0, slot 5 Drive Discs can roll Wind DMG Bonus as a main stat, which both Wind damage dealers and Rupture agents can use. Pick discs in this order: confirm the character benefits from both ATK% and Elemental DMG Bonus, then add Crit Rate and Crit DMG to fix the curve, and only then chase generic rolls. 3.2 also updated the recommended Drive Disc data inside the in-game training plans and added day-one recommended sets for the new agents, so check the built-in recommendation before committing resources.
A fieldwork note on Rupture
The stat Rupture players underrate is Stun Recovery. Phases 2 and 3 both slow it down, and combined with a Rupture agent's own stun value, that stretches a burst window from a single Chain Attack into a full rotation. I fire the Chain Attack before the stun lands rather than after it, because the slowdown timer starts on the hit that applies it, not on the stun itself.
Zenless Zone Zero Deadly Assault and Maze Domain this cycle
Deadly Assault's three trial sets in 3.2 are: phase 1 Kusariku, Kitaburu · Warped Aberrant, Nightmare Binder · Yeshiyuan; phase 2 Kusariku, Blighted Wraith · Mingkening; phase 3 Burning Embers of Noon · ???, Furnace Walker Zhe, Kusariku. The Desperate stages are Heterogeneous Burning Embers (phases 1-2) and Heterogeneous Kitaburu (phase 3).
Parry Support clarification
3.2 states enemy flash colours explicitly: gold flash means the move can be answered with Parry Support, red flash means it cannot. Some Control Techniques' first hits can now be parried as well. In practice, gold should trigger a parry, not a reflex dodge.
Bagel Plan II prisms
Maze Domain: Bagel Plan II adds tactical prisms for Kelailei, Luoxi, Yuechengliu, Zhao, Banyue, Idehayley and Starlight Billy, plus a generic Fengyu armament. The tactical item Safe Beacon can drop from searching Briefcase containers on Hard or High-Risk difficulty. The new season reset global rankings and medal tiers, and a season settlement screen was added.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 resource planning
Assuming you land one of Kelailei or Luoxi, where to spend stamina depends on whether you are farming Shiyu Defense or Deadly Assault.
| Priority | Action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| High | Farm Fengyu Drill and Fengyu Coupling Test first | New specialty materials, and the double-drop windows will not wait |
| High | Use double-drop windows (Sep 23-28 Area Patrol, Oct 14-19 Combat Simulation) | Officially boosted periods |
| Medium | Invest in Luoxi's Rupture build for phase 2 | Phase 2 buffs fit Rupture best |
| Medium | Push Bangboo standing to level 35 | Cap raised with new rewards |
| Low | Re-farm Drive Discs for older agents | Diminishing returns unless a core team is short on damage |
Pull advice: Kelailei before Luoxi
My call is Kelailei first, and the reason is materials rather than tier lists: Fengyu certificates and components are a brand-new chain, so starting early avoids an end-of-version scramble. Wind Rupture also has more substitutes than Electric Anomaly damage in most lineups. If you want both, secure Kelailei in the first half and then decide on Luoxi with whatever Polychrome remains.
