Wuthering Waves 3.6 Qingxiao Guide: Heart-Lock Stacks, Cloud Jade and Tower of Adversity Teams

Wuthering Waves 3.6 Overview and Qingxiao's Role

Version 3.6 is the largest update since the second anniversary, and Qingxiao's role decides where your resources should go for the next patch.

Patch timing and compensation

The 3.6 maintenance window ran August 20, 2026 from 04:00 to 11:00 UTC+8, with 600 Astrite and 2 Crystal Solvents issued as compensation. The patch covers roughly five weeks, ending at the September 30 maintenance.

New characters and reruns

The new 5-star Resonators are Qingxiao and Jingran; the new weapons are Cloud Jade and Qiandu. Reruns cover Dania, Feixue and Moning. For a Qingxiao team, the Dania and Moning reruns matter more than the new weapon options.

Other 3.6 content

A new area, Xuanyuanjing, plus six limited events including Resonance Simulation Domain, and general performance work that the patch notes claim adds about 10 fps. The creator incentive campaign accepts submissions from August 20 to September 29.

Qingxiao Mechanics: Qinxin, Jianpo and Heart Lock

Qingxiao's bottleneck is not raw multipliers. It is keeping three resource gauges fed and stacking Heart Lock.

Two gauges, two sword stances

Qingxiao maintains Qinxin, capped at 100, gained while the conceal-stance attacks deal damage, and Jianpo, also capped at 100, gained from the hold-stance attacks. Filling both unlocks the heavy attack, which spends 30 stamina to enter the Mist-Form Immortal Body state.

Heart Lock: 2 percent per stack, plus 5 percent on the first seven

Heart Lock caps at 15 stacks and is applied when any team member inflicts resonance interference on a target. Each stack raises the damage of Qingxiao's heavy attack, both Mist-Form attacks, Tianjun Dangsha and her Resonance Liberation by 2 percent, and the first seven stacks add a further 5 percent each . Those first seven stacks are the steep part of the curve, which is why stacking past seven is the practical entry point for any burst window.

Liberation and Outro multipliers

Resonance Liberation at level 10 is 30.62 percent times 10 plus 1224.67 percent, on a 25 second cooldown, costing 125 resonance energy and refunding 20 concerto. Her Outro deals Aero damage equal to 800 percent of her ATK .

Qingxiao's Weapon: Cloud Jade and Substitutes

Why Cloud Jade is the expected pickup

Cloud Jade is a 5-star sword. Its rank one passive grants 12 percent ATK, and casting resonance interference grants one stack of Aero damage bonus worth 11.2 percent for 2 seconds, stacking up to five times, proccing at most once every 0.5 seconds. At maximum stacks the bonus duration extends to 15 seconds and Aero damage ignores 10 percent of enemy DEF . The passive is built entirely around how often interference triggers, which is the same loop Qingxiao's own Shengsu break mechanic wants.

When a substitute is acceptable

Without Cloud Jade, pick a 5-star sword with Aero damage bonus or ATK. The trade is losing the 10 percent DEF ignore, which matters most in high-defense content such as the Tower of Adversity, so treat substitutes as transitional.

Qingxiao Team Compositions

Team Lineup Gear direction Rotation
Best in slot Qingxiao + Dania + Moning Dania on Backlight or Heartcut; Moning on the resonance field setup Moning sets the field, Dania applies interference, Qingxiao bursts with 40 percent amplification
No Dania Qingxiao + Linne + Moning Linne brings 15 percent total and 25 percent Liberation amplification Same loop, damage drops under 10 percent
No Moning Qingxiao + Dania + Shorekeeper Shorekeeper covers sustain and energy Use under survival pressure, top up Moning next phase
Transitional Qingxiao + Sanhua + Moning Sanhua slot can be Youo, Rebecca or Mortefi Only until gear matures

Why Moning and Dania are hard to replace

Moning's resonance field raises Concerto buildup efficiency for all nearby team members by 50 percent and increases the Shengsu interference stack cap by one. Dania, when a team member applies Shengsu offset, makes the target accumulate Concerto equal to 50 percent of its buildup cap and also raises the interference stack cap by one, which lets the first rotation execute twice and stack interference faster.

Pick order when you are short on pulls

If you have neither Dania nor Moning and can only afford one: with Linne already owned, pull Moning first, since Qingxiao + Linne + Moning beats Qingxiao + Dania + Shorekeeper. With none of the three, pull Dania first.

Tower of Adversity Practical Tips

Read the current buffs and resistances first

The Tower splits into Echo Tower, Resonant Tower and the Deep Tower, and buffs plus enemy resistances rotate every period. Qingxiao is Aero, so check whether the current middle tower suppresses Aero before assigning her. If the period favors another element, park her on a side tower with friendlier resistance.

Execution checklist

  1. Stack Heart Lock past seven before opening a burst window; that is where the bonus is concentrated.
  2. Confirm both Qinxin and Jianpo are full before the heavy attack, or Mist-Form will not trigger.
  3. Under Sky-Bright Clarity, the heavy attack adds two extra Heart Lock stacks.
  4. Keep stamina for sword-flight repositioning rather than long-distance travel.
  5. Land Dania's Outro on Qingxiao before the burst, not during the opener, so the 40 percent amplification is not wasted.

Wuthering Waves 3.6 Resource Plan

Priority Target Why
High Moning 50 percent Concerto efficiency and +1 interference cap, a core slot for Qingxiao
High Cloud Jade Passive matches the interference loop and carries the DEF-ignore line
Medium Dania 40 percent total damage amplification, replaceable by Linne
Low Jingran and Qiandu Not core to the Qingxiao package, judge by your own roster gaps

Exploration value from sword flight

The new area has 12 sword-flight takeoff and landing points spread across Yunyin Terrace, Qixia Market and Duanhong Abyss, unlocked by completing the Tide quest line . Hop between points instead of holding flight, since it drains the flight gauge far more slowly.

FAQ

Q: Can Qingxiao work without Dania and Moning?
A: Yes, but damage drops noticeably. Linne replaces Dania at under 10 percent loss, Shorekeeper replaces Moning, and if you can only pull one, take Dania.

Q: Is Cloud Jade worth pulling?
A: Yes. Rank one gives 12 percent ATK, extends the Aero bonus to 15 seconds at full stacks, and adds 10 percent DEF ignore.

Q: Why does the guide insist on seven Heart Lock stacks?
A: Each stack is 2 percent, and the first seven add 5 percent each, so the curve is steepest below seven.

Q: Which substats does Qingxiao want?
A: Aero damage bonus and ATK first, then crit rate and crit damage. With Dania, Backlight and Heartcut differ by roughly 0.1 percent at full rank one investment.

Q: How long is 3.6 live?
A: Until the September 30, 2026 maintenance, about five weeks. Creator submissions close September 29.

Action list

  1. Check your roster for Dania and Moning, and top up Moning in the second phase if missing.
  2. Stack Heart Lock past seven before every burst cycle.
  3. Run a 5-star Aero sword until you can afford Cloud Jade.
  4. Check the current middle tower for Aero suppression before entering the Tower of Adversity.
  5. Use the 12 sword-flight points for exploration to preserve the flight gauge.
